Episode 22: Going Behind the Curtain on HR

In this episode of Past the Balance Sheet, Kash and Sassy step outside the finance lane and into the human side of business: HR, workplace culture, boundaries, and accountability.

HR is often treated like paperwork, policies, and compliance, but the real work is much deeper. It is about whether people feel safe, respected, protected, and able to speak up when something is wrong.

Kash and Sassy dig into toxic work environments, gossip, public humiliation, fear-based leadership, sexual harassment, retaliation, inappropriate conduct, and the responsibility leaders have to protect people, not just the company.

They also talk openly about the gray areas that make workplace dynamics complicated: setting boundaries, documenting concerns, office relationships, language at work, employee handbooks, and the pressure to be “friends” with coworkers outside of work.

This conversation is honest, uncomfortable, and necessary. Because culture is not what a company says it is. Culture is what leadership allows.
